Wow, hi anyone who' still with us. First off I'd like to apologize for being missing in action for...a long time, shhh nobody talk about it. I wanted to report in though and say that we aren't dead, so don't write us off just yet. I want to give the place a make over so that when people come here they can at least tell that there's activity going on backstage, as well as because I think it's about time we get ourselves a new look. Also, hi. Hope everyone had a good Halloween! Mine was crazy and stupid and I froze my butt off because I was a pirate, but, you know, of the slutty looking variety, and of course that was the one day it decided to get down to, like, thirty degrees around here. All year long it's been eighty degrees and higher and the one day I decide to slut-it-up and the weather tries and teach me a lesson. *shakes first at weather* Of course now it's back to a bajillion degrees again. On a completely un-PF related note, I got a new job! Yay...because I love working sooo much. Actually, I don't mind this one. I kind of just shuffle about and take orders from people who don't even know I'm new but...meh, I like money. Okay, woah, I'm done talking...for now. Oh, also, I'm lurking around our old forgotten forum/fortress if anyone feels like talking gibberish with me. :D This is Coco by the way. Okay, bye, the end, leave comments and/or puke words in our chat box!

Holy mother licking Star Wars.

I've been seeing all these pictures of Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine hanging out with Benedict Cumberbatch. I guess I thought that they were just all really photogenic bff's. And then Simon Pegg was in the photos and it still didn't click for me; I just thought they were forming some kinda really awesome club.

I only just realized that it's not some super hawt club gathering, it's-- they-- I cant-- Star Trek! Number Two! Can you believe this!? My life has meaning now.

Is anyone else experiencing a sudden burst of love for everyone and everything?

I must research this matter further, definitely will do lots of fangirling and then use all my mind power on keeping the world from ending before it comes.

That's where I'll be.

Hi, kids. It's me, that one person/girl_child who never sleeps. O_O :|

I've been stalking Wattpad a lot lately. I think I've already read the five good and original stories on there though. :( Seriously, I just title surf at this point. It's a good ritual to get me to sleep...or to laugh. I'll also go cover browsing, you know, just checking out all the cool book covers they have over there. Some are seriously wow. That's one thing that I kind of like about Wattpad, is the book cover thing. But um, if you know of any good stories over there please share with us, I'm always up for a good story to get stuck on. :3

Well I'm off to not sleep but instead try and kill the mosquito that's been living in my room for four days. -C

Hi, kids. It’s me, that one person/girl_child who never sleeps. O_O <--my face right now. I should have listened to my grandmother all those years ago when she told me drinking as much coffee as I do would lead to me never sleeping. So, just wanted to show you all signs of life over here on our side. We're late on some things but that doesn't mean we're dead. Like that Golden Girls' episode says, "better late than pregnant!" If you haven't checked out our Facebook yet then you totally should; we, plus tons of awesome reader/authors, hang out over there a lot. The link is all the way at the bottom of the page.

I hate Spring. I mean, it’s pretty much Summer over here in the swamps; basically, anything after December 31st is Summer. Then we skip Fall and start Winter again on December 15th minus a few days in between. And even when it’s cold it’s also humid and/or windy and/or raining. So yeah…I hate Spring. Hello mosquitos. Hello junebugs. Hello lovebugs and all other bugs that get stuck in my hair when I run out my front door. >:|

So I just read an amazing book, which I didn't expect to love nearly as much as I did. The book was by an author I respect , but I've never been able to get through one of his books about socially awkward boys with girl problems.

This book though I read in one sitting, and couldn't stop thinking about it for days. What I think it comes down to is timing. A great book will resonate with you only if you find that it relates to what is happenning in your life. If you can relate to the characters the book will become a part of you. Having just lost a friend who was diagnosed with cancer eight months before her death, the heroine of the novel brought up many parallels to that experience. That said, when deciding what to read next, know that timing is everything.

(P.S. if you want to know the book I'm talking about just ask in the comments.)

Okay so I know this post is fourteen days late but I'm just gonna pretend that I did it on purpose so those of you without that special someone to salivate all over on this haloed day will have something to direct all that unused affection and pent up lovin’ aggression on. Yeah, you're welcome. And well we couldn't have matched an author to a month better this time around. xD

February's featured author is Em'ly with her one-shot Keys. Check it out and the interview. You'll be impressed, I promise.

And seeing as how we've taken down the challenges there's nothing more to say.

Here's some V-Day love from us(your only true loves) 'cause we love ya.

And yes, if you're wondering, that is a real unicorn.

So I was randomly clicking on links around the site and I found some really cool stuff that I thought you all would love!

In the Writing Guides section we have our this link called, "Ultimate Writing Resources" and you'll find a bunch of nifty stuff there! The PF girls have provided you with writing software, a list of writing communities and even a few links that will challenge you. My favorite is all the way at the bottom and it's the link that has me do nothing for 2 minutes! It's a perfect way to relax after a hard week of studying or it could help you ease out of that terrible writer's block.

So what are you waiting for? Go find fun stuff to do! :)

Henry, the lovable bird and PF mascot, has had something of an accident involving a vat of toxic waste. Needless to say the bird has developed mutant powers; laser vision, jet-packs, Russian accents-- it's all very exciting really. The toxic not only gave him powers and altered his appearance but also dissolved the first letter in his name. I know, I know. Some birds get all the luck. Where the hell do I even find a vat of toxic waste?

Anyways meet Enry, Project Fiction's new mascot.

Project Publish has finally been pulled off the back burner, spiffed up, and ready for some hot monkey action. Well okay no, hot monkey action would be disturbing but you get me meaning, right? Go on over and check out the bookshelf and the awesome authors selected to get published on Project Fiction.

If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about all you've gotta do is look up at the navigation bar up there and you'll find Project Publish at the very end. Click it and be amazed.

Also the PP section is still undergoing some construction which means I've not got around to posting the application or the rules & conditions of said application. I do however plan to do this soon so don't be getting your panties in a knot.

That's it for now my lovelies,
Slightly

P.S. Everyone needs to watch Firefly.

So you may have noticed-or maybe you didn't-but at the beginning of this month we decided to discontinue our challenge section. We figured it was for the best considering the general lack of interest/participation from you guys. I don't think we've had one entry in three months. Which is, to quote my favorite character of all time, balls. (A shinny penny to the person who knows to whom I am referring.)

But maybe we'll bring it back later when we've got the time and you've got the interest. For now though we'll just remember the good times we had with it, turn on some sad music, stare out a rainy window all forlornly, and leave it at that.

2012, can you believe it? I certainly can't.

To begin with I would like to introduce you to this month's Author of The Month if you haven't already discovered her, it is the lovely Lady Femme Fatale, with her medieval fiction, Beautiful Disaster. Go check it out, it's beautiful, I swear.

So after a whole week of striving to meet your respective new years resolutions, I wonder have you met any of them? If no, do not fear, for I have also remained just as lazy and unproductive as I was in 2011, hey at least I'm consistent.

It makes me wonder though, if the world really does end on December twenty-first, will I be satisfied? So that being said I challenge all of you to live each day not regretting, doing the things that you love, and cherishing the ones close to you. And as always reading only the good fiction, (*shameless advertising*) cause life is too short to spend it reading anything else.

Finally, from the PF team, we wish you all a happy new year. Filled with even more awesomeness than 2011.

And that's it my lovelies.

So...I kind of know what I'm getting for Christmas because of my super sneaky/nosy spy skills. Now I just have to use my awesome acting skills to pretend to be surprised. Heh, I'm just full of all kinds of useless skills that don't really apply to anything besides finding out what gifts people are getting me and then acting surprised about them.

On that note...surprise it's snowing here at Project Fiction! In case you haven't noticed for the past week+ that the snow has been falling around here. If you can't see the snow then you must be awesome and be using script blockers. Just allow PF and you'll see the snow magic.

Hope everyone is having good holiday times or if you're not on holidays then I hope you're having good...normal life times. It's been raining like crazy over here but staying average cold. On Christmas day it's suppose to get real cold so I'm stupidly hyper about that. Why am I so hyper about that? Because I live in The Republic of Texas. Haha, that is a running joke between me and a friend. You'll get it if you know a Texan...or know how much Texans love themselves/Texas...or have played Fallout 3.

Okay, so I have nothing of real interest to report on so I'm going to stop before it turns into a rambling-fest that has everyone in the room feeling awkward that I haven't shut up yet. I'll leave you off with our Holiday Card...which isn't very holiday-ish but oh well. See if you can figure out who in the card I put to represent each of us, teehee.

Project Fiction is back and more badass then ever! Rejoice and be merry my lovely cohorts! Go and take a gander around the site, familiarize yourself with the site. We've revamped some stuff, created a new look-- one we just might stick with, and got ourselves some new staff members. But wait there's more-- except I cant share that little tidbit with you at the moment. But just know that it will be the mother of all awesome things when it does happen. So be prepared.

Alrighty we've got a few new staff members that I'd like to take a moment to brag about. First there is Ariel who is Project Fiction's newest Social Butterfly and the resident Story Reviewer. Zoe is the chick who courageously ventures into the wilds of the internet seeking good fiction and she is also our Rubric Guru. Then there is Niki who is the AOTM Master which means she finds the great authors out there and interviews them like no one has before. And finally there is Kelsie who is the newest member of our graphics team. Check out them out over in the Bio section, you might even say a nice 'hello' to 'em in the shoutbox.

So I may have mentioned this before but I'll do it again just in case; we have a new thing called Writer Watch people, check it out. Know an author who is an all around literary badass? Writer Watch is where you, dear cohort, can nominate said author for Author of the Month-dom. Cool, no? Also we've revamped our method of nominating. It is now easier then ever. Simply click this link or the link on the top bar up there labeled Nominate and follow the instructions on the page.

Now onward to the monthly updates! Seeing as how we had no challenge last time we have no challenge victor. But happily we do have a new challenge posted this month and its a doozie. Wander on over to the challenge section if you're feeling superhuman or have been exposed to any form of radiation lately.

Decembers featured author is AmandaPate with her medieval romance By Order of the King. Check out her fiction and her interview; you'll like them both I promise.

And that's it for now my lovelies,

So has you all can see from our Facebook and Twitter page, we're looking for people to fill a few positions. Unfortunately, we've had some staff cuts. So, if you're interested on being on the PF team and have a love for online fiction, this update is just for you!

So far, we need a Fiction Finder/Rubric Reviewer, an AOTM Master, and a Project Publish Master. If you're interested in any of these positions or would like to know more, drop us an e-mail at projectxfiction@gmail.com

As a heads up, Project Fiction is going on hiatus for the month of November in order to get PF back in order after our staff cuts. Don't freak out when the site has a big hiatus page when you come here. It's only temporary. We promise! :)

I was studying today, and I came across an interesting logical fallacy. It's called "hasty generalization". It is a conclusion that is drawn from a very small pool of data and then taken to be a true fact about an entire subject. For example: My mother is a good cook; therefore, all mothers are good cooks. This statement may apply to some mothers, but not all. This kind of flawed reasoning is often the origin of many racist, sexist, and other such stereotypes. It's hard to believe that rhetorical devices can have such a devastating social impact.

'Tis now October and I've really got nothing to babble on about so I'll skip to the stuff you're here for.

Let's stats with the September Challenge winner: Stolarz for her one-shot Unintentional Public Nudity. Check it out and then take a gander at the newest challenge; maybe it'll strike your interest and you'll get the inkling to sit down and write.

October's Author of the Month is the talented Armith-Greenleaf with her featured fiction Changing Madeline. Check out her interview, done by our newest member Ariel. You'll also want to go and read her fiction, she's AOTM after all and when have we ever lead you astray?

That's it for this month's round of updates my lovelies!

P.S. We are still seeking a graphic artist!
Applicants must have an artistic inclination and the means to utilize said skills. Work well in a team setting. Be available at least three times a week. Active on the internet. Harbor a love for Han Solo (optional).
Position Requirements: 913x120 Project Fiction themed banner.
Salary: the instant rock star status that comes with being on the pf team and our eternal love.
Please apply thru email.
